XR Games
The historic Grade II listed Half Roundhouse building in Holbeck, Leeds, offers a unique environment for XR Games’ new office, combining it’s rich architectural heritage with a modern creative workspace, perfectly reflecting the company’s innovative approach to gaming.
The building, originally constructed in 1847 as a railway engine shed for the Leeds and Thirsk Railway, had capacity to accommodate and maintain up to 20 locomotives. It’s listed status ensures the preservation of its architectural features, many of which can be admired from within the XR Games office.
Project: XR Games Office
Location: Leeds
The key driving factor in XR Games’ brief for their new office was to avoid feeling like a typical office. A mixture of desking and feature pieces such as the soft seating, lounge chairs and meeting tables offered a mix of workspace settings, catering to various staff needs. The main office feature, located on the ground floor is the XR Games bar with large format terrazzo tiles, mirrored back bar, feature pendant lighting and bold illuminated signage at high level. The juxtaposition of modern with industrial architectural features create a stunning and unique office.
